Amora Coffee Scam Review – MUST READ!

Amora Coffee (AmoraCoffee) is an online coffee and tea retailer that has been said to employ deceptive and predatory marketing tactics on their unsuspecting consumers.

Launched in 2011, Amora Coffee supports premium coffee and tea blends that are accompanied with heavy price tags which nearly triples the average consumer price points of coffee brands like Folgers.

While the online community appears mostly in distraught regarding Amora Coffee and their marketing tactics, further research will reveal that technically they aren’t breaking any US laws.

The aim of this unbiased review would be to provide you with an encompassing oversight of Amora Coffee while shedding light on the excessive complaints filed against AmoraCoffee.com.

About Amora Coffee

Amora Coffee was born by the end of 2011.

Their mission was to bring freshly roasted coffee to all Americans.

Today Amora Coffee offers 4 different varieties of coffee blends that can come as whole bean, finely ground, regular blend or decaf.

According to their site, Amora Coffee uses the finest beans and a 9-step roasting process and then cuts out of the middle man, shipping direct to your door.

The thought process behind cutting out the middle man would be to ensure product freshness while also reducing business expenses.

Four years later in 2015, Amora Coffee added Amora Tea to their product inventory where now they support 6 different tea blends.

Amora Coffee Blends

Delicate Blend

A classic blend of Central and South American beans that is said to be balanced, fruity, creamy with good body.

Eleganta Blend

A blend of medium roast Indonesian and South American beans, the cup has ‘excellent’ sweetness and a syrupy body with a complex finish.

Vigorosi Blend

A medium dark blend of East African and South American beans offering sweet acidity with a bittersweet chocolate finish.

Intenso Blend

A blend of Central and South American beans that is said to deliver an intense full body dark roast with a bold rich decadent finish.

Amora Coffee Checkout

Amora Coffee blends are valued at $15 per bag.

When it comes to checking out, AmoraCoffee.com only enables consumers to enroll with their automated subscription service, where consumers will receive a half pound bag of coffee and some select sweets.

There is no ability to conduct a one-time checkout through AmoraCoffee.com, which is undoubtedly where the complaints start to rack up regarding Amora Coffee.

Amora Coffee Reviews

Amora Coffee does not reflect the best consumer feedback.

According to Yelp, Amora Coffee reflects a 1.5 out of 5 star rating out of 90 reviews.

Shared below are some of the most recent reviews we found:

“**Preface** I really don’t understand how people think they can truly get something for free in this day in age, without at the very least being signed up for an auto-delivery program of some sort. HELLO. Pay attention to emails and fine print. It’s not rocket science people. That aside, I AM IN LOVE AND OBSESSED WITH THIS COFFEE”

“Absolute scam. Ordered a box of wine and they advertised an offer to add-on a bag of coffee…The coffee arrived with NO clear reference to a subscription service. Then, weeks later, suddenly a box along with a $70 charge…Dishonest. Reporting to various places possible.”

To find out more consumer reviews you can visit PissedConsumer, which reflects an Amora Coffee rating of 1.7 out of 5 stars out of 345 consumer reviews.

Amora Coffee Complaints

The complaints regarding Amora Coffee are numerous and undoubtedly coincide with Amora Coffee’s vagueness regarding their special offers.

As a result, the Better Business Bureau issued the following complaint:

As the image above elaborates, the vast majority of consumers who purchase a special order through AmoraCoffee.com were under the impression that it was a one-time purchase.

Not an auto enrollment that sends you a fresh batch of FOUR half pound bags, at a regular price of $14.95 per bag plus $7.95 per shipment for handling and expedited delivery.

How to Purchase Amora Coffee Outright

As we previously mentioned there is not a way to purchase Amora Coffee or tea through AmoraCoffee.com without having to partake in their auto enrollment process.

In order to purchase their coffee and tea goods outright, you must select their “Store” tab at AmoraCoffee.com where you will be redirected to AmoraCoffeeOrders.com.

Only at AmoraCoffeeOrders can you purchase Amora Coffee and teas without auto enrollment.

Is Amora Coffee a Scam?

Amora Coffee does not appear to be a scam despite how many upset consumers surface in their wake of unknown auto enrollment.

Amora Coffee and Amora LLC are Better Business Bureau approved and in terms of legality are operating by the books, despite some apparently shady checkout procedures.

Amora Coffee Review Conclusion

Amora Coffee supports a premium selection of coffee and tea for US consumers.

Despite their operation having amassed an excessive number of complaints over the past few years, they appear to be functioning within the parameters of US law.

While we don’t agree with the way that Amora Coffee conducts their business, and more specifically their special offers, we have no concrete footing to declare this operation as illegitimate due to operating within lawful parameters.

Given the information shared in the review above, we advice you to shop with Amora Coffee with caution and avoid their special offers as a whole.

Outcome: Amora Coffee is Legit

I tried cancelling on line. Since I forgot my password, I was sent a “temporary p/w”…..actually six(6), and NONE worked. Then you might get an error message freezing the cancel process. So, you start all over….same B/S. The on-line cancel system does not function. You have to call. On hold interminably……but finally got through. And cust svc rep cancelled my acct & sent a confirming email. The entire inefficiency smells like a contrived one. No business can allow this type of “mess” unless intentional to thwart an easy cancel process. Do you a favor-STAY AWAY

You need to call them direct. Keep after it, you will get your money refunded if you used Paypal, if you used a credit card, claim it is not your charge. Good luck and don’t let them scam you.

$60 for half a pound of coffee? Damn can I start a scam like this?

    • Sharon

Bob, If you had read the terms when you signed up you would know that this was an automatic shipment. It seems to me that your comments are the ones that are condescending and one sided.

    • Sharon

Robert humphrey, It is $7.95 for 1/2 pound. I don’t know where you got your numbers.

    BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
This company is a scam and charge my credit $ 68.75 without my authorization. If you call the number that is listed – you will receive a message stating that number is no longer in service

    • Ginny

I sure am glad I decided to put their name in Google. Came across the above article. And now your comment. Thank you! You saved me alot of hassle and maybe even an upset Hubby!

    • Robert humphrey

Yup did the same thing to me. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!

$60.00 a pound! I don’t think so for me. Way too expensive.!!

    • Dee Marie

It said $14.95 a half pound – that would add up to $37.95 for a pound of “selectively grown special for you” coffee – you’re right, too expensive for my purse! I shall stick to my regular blend for the 98 percenters out there, the cattle in line for slaughter as it’s one of the best tasting coffees out there in my opinion and I am a coffee connoisseur of sorts trying coffees from all over the world. Costa Rican Peaberry being my most favorite! Gevallia coffee may be a better deal – at least they have more selection!

    GREAT COMOPANY AND GREAT COFFEE!

PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEY NEED TO READ THE TERMS AND POLICIES OF COMPANIES WHO OFFER FREE ITEMS. THE MAJORITY OF THOSE COMPANIES HAVE AN AUTO-ENROLLMENT. THEY GIVE YOU A DEADLINE TO CANCEL. YOU MISS YOUR DEADLINE TO CANCEL, THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD! WHO’S AT FAULT? HINT: NOT THE COMPANY!

I LOVE THEIR COFFEE AND I KNEW IT WOULD BE AN AUTO-ENROLLMENT BECAUSE I READ THE TERMS.

    Royce,

It’s not the company that is giving you the Scammy phone calls. Its the scammers out there that are doing it. They see you are a member probably, and they are trying to scam you.
I am a member and I don’t get those scammy calls. I do get scammers calling all the time, but I have a nice loud whistle for them, or sometimes I confront them and let them know that I’m not stupid and know they are scammers. They hang up immediately.
THIS company is doing great, so when companies do great, scammers love to take advantage. You just need to be smart enough to know a scammer when you smell one. The only rotten beans out there ARE the scammers. They use major companies, great companies and companies that are moving up. If a company is a scammer, the scammer is not interested in scamming you.
Believe me when I say this is a GREAT company and they don’t need to call you for their products. They offer and you make the decision if you want to join or not. They may send an invitation or two, but they don’t bug you by wasting their time calling you. Its the scammers out there calling you! Get wise and know fir a fact who you are REALLY talking to, otherwise leave this company alone. They are great, they’ve received awards, they assist in a friendly way, and they give away FREE things. I know because I get free things from them all the time, just by being a member.

  8. ROSA LEE CHRISTOPHER

I think this is a legit company. I ordered the first time and because I didn’t have the money to continue this subscription, I canceled. No problem! Then I received another invite to get TWO free bags of coffee, the canister, free shipping! Why not?
I really LOVE their coffee. It’s a little expensive, but you get what you pay for, right? It’s the best coffee I’ve had in years! It’s an imported coffee, so its cost is a little higher then some, but it is worth every penny to me. It comes in a well sealed bag, the flavor is awesome, and it stays fresh because of the way the bag keeps the coffee. For those of you who think this is a SCAM, I’m here to tell you that I have nothing but good things to say about this company, including their wonderful customer service.
If you are used to cheap coffee, if you are not used to imported foods and drinks, then this club is not for you.

I recommend this company because I am a member and plan to be a member for a long time. You just can’t find the silky, fresh and most delicious coffee anywhere!
I rate this Coffee 10 stars, not five!

  9. Overwhelmed Online

Caveat emptor The latest offer features 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) ‘free’ coffee. Pay $1 shipping and processing. They have your credit card number. The strings are then attached. Read the fine print – terms and agreement. Received 5 emails within 2 days.

    • ROSA LEE CHRISTOPHER

So what! This is for YOUR convenience when you re-order. I have had no problems with that! Have you, or are you just trying to find something negative about them?

I use several credit cards and have never had an issue with them.

Speak of experience, not what you think you may know. I am a Member and love this membership. They have proved to me that they can be trusted.

  10. Royce dressel

I bought this coffee ,cancelled and started getting one scammy phone call after another trying to get my bank card info. “In this day and age” as they put it, I immediately connected the events and have personally determined that it is my opinion, amora coffee has got some rotten beans on the payroll. You smellin’ what I’m stepping in pilgrims? Because it ain’t the smell of sweet fresh coffee.
